Like the idea

Light rail yes, High speed rail not so much.

I like the idea of light rail I have been to a few cites here in the U.S. and a few cities abroad with above ground light rail. They seem to work ok mixed in with road traffic.

I know a lot of people I work with from the valley that commute have talked about wanting a rail system.

Couple of issues I see is cost, snow/cold, population density. I do not know how this would be funded. What ever is chosen it needs to be able to deal with heavy snow and our cold temps. The other problem I see is with such small population densities this rail line would need quite a few stops to get people to use it.

I would love to have our own high speed rail or even mag-lev line but I just don't see it being feasible.
